Translations and interpreting from/into English

I graduated from the Faculty of Science of the Charles University in Prague. I completed my study of biological disciplines by acquiring the Doctor of Science title. Following my studies, I worked 4 years as a research assistant at the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic where I had the opportunity to intensively deepen my knowledge of technical English by studying foreign scientific texts and cooperating with my colleagues from abroad. I then worked for almost 6 years in the position of Commercial Specialist of the Embassy of the United States of America in Prague covering the areas of agricultural, food production and trade issues. My work included frequent visits to the United States of America and everyday work and communication in English with my foreign colleagues. My work after working for the US Embassy continued to include intensive cooperation with my foreign colleagues from English-speaking countries and visits to their countries.

Due to my education in the field of science, systematic language training, and more than 20-year practice, I currently belong to the group of most experienced professional suppliers of translation services in the field of food industry, agriculture, environment, biochemistry, pharmacy, IT, law, and commerce. I am lucky that the work of translator is my profession as well as my personal hobby. For me, the time devoted to translating is not just time spent working but also a time of pleasure.

I specialize mainly in supplying translations of official, legal, and commercial documents and the documents combining the information of the above fields. In cooperation with my colleagues, I also ensure certified translations. Following a mutual agreement, I can ensure translations of texts also in other fields and other languages (e.g. in German, Russian, French, Arabic, Romanian, Bulgarian, etc.) – in cooperation with my colleagues with whom I have had a long-term professional relationship and whose quality and reliability have been tested by our long-term cooperation. More than 20 years of experience

• 1995–present: Supplier of Translation and Interpreting Services for private entities and translation agencies;
• 2003–2013: Registered Agent of the company Guilford Czech Republic s.r.o. – a subsidiary of the British processing company in the Czech Republic operating as the supplier of upholstering fabric for automotive industry, everyday communication with native speakers;
• 2001–2003: Logistics Manager of the company Guilford Czech Republic s.r.o. – a subsidiary of the British processing company operating in the Czech Republic as the supplier of upholstering fabric for automotive industry, everyday communication with native speakers;
• 1998–2001: Exports Manager for USA and Canada of the company Sukno Textil a.s. – a Czech company processing wool fabrics for production of clothes, everyday communication with the company clients in USA and Canada, business negotiations in USA and Canada;
• 1993–1998: Representative of the U.S. Agricultural Commercial Counsel for the field of agriculture and food industry in the Czech Republic, Embassy of the United States of America in Prague, everyday communication in English with supervisors, colleagues and clients of the office, frequent stays in the United States of America;
• 1989–1993: Research Assistant of the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic, study of the vegetation influenced by human activities (agriculture, human settlements), work with foreign language publications and cooperation with colleagues from abroad.
